ARTISTIC BIOGRAPHY
PASSION, INNOVATION, CREATIVITY
An artist of the younger generation, Weronika Chodakowska is a pianist who relentlessly explores new and inspiring musical territories. She is driven by a passion for rediscovering and championing forgotten voices, especially those of Polish composers whose works have slipped from the mainstream repertoire. Through her performances and projects, she restores these scores to the concert stage, revealing their timeless beauty, emotional nuance and contemporary relevance. Her visionary approach to classical music, combined with an unforced authenticity and the courage to follow her own artistic instincts, has established her as one of the most distinctive and compelling figures on the Polish music scene.
In 2023, Weronika brought a major artistic vision to fruition with the release of her debut album From Lviv to Paris, featuring world-première recordings of works by Karol Mikuli. The recording is the first piano monograph devoted entirely to this fascinating composer, illuminating the richness, variety and originality of his musical language. The album was greeted with exceptional enthusiasm by both critics and audiences, and received an award at the prestigious International Competition Muzyczne Orły for outstanding artistic achievement in the field of musical arts. Following its release, Weronika took From Lviv to Paris onto the international stage with a concert tour that has included performances in Poland, Italy, Germany and Lithuania. Her recitals, praised for their narrative coherence and emotional intensity, have consistently won the hearts of audiences and organisers. In 2025 she represented Poland at the World EXPO in Japan, where her Chopin recitals in Osaka attracted large audiences and were admired for their poetic restraint, colouristic sophistication and striking interpretative maturity. Her recital in Paris, which closed the 16th Chopin au Jardin Festival and formed part of the celebrations of the Polish Presidency of the European Union, confirmed her reputation as an artist able to combine artistic integrity with a powerful communicative presence.
A laureate of numerous international piano competitions and festivals in Poland and abroad, Weronika has appeared as a soloist at some of the country’s most esteemed venues, including the National Philharmonic, the Royal Castle and the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw. Her repertoire already encompasses more than one hundred works by Fryderyk Chopin, whose music occupies a central place in her artistic life. Remarkably, after only five years of piano study she gave a brilliant performance of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18, demonstrating a technical command and emotional intensity far beyond her years. At seventeen she made her debut in the United States, moving audiences with finely wrought interpretations of works by Domenico Scarlatti, Fryderyk Chopin and Alexander Scriabin.
Alongside her concert activity, Weronika is the founder and driving force behind PianoPasja, a brand and artistic platform dedicated to inviting new audiences into the world of classical music. Through PianoPasja she designs imaginative, interdisciplinary projects that bridge music with literature, visual arts and storytelling, always with a view to making the concert experience more immediate and immersive. With exceptional sensitivity and a flair for narrative programming, she creates concepts such as In the Moonlight and Chopin and His Students, which reframe the classical recital as an immersive experience and offer a fresh, engaging perspective on the piano repertoire.
